Thank you for joining me.
Thanks for taking a couple of minutes to share your feedback. Below you’ll find the model to keep, something to come back to over the next few weeks, and a resource for your team.
The model

Three layers. The behaviour is what people can see. Underneath it is the script, the rule that makes the behaviour make sense. At the centre is identity, who you think you are.
An example: hands-on executing, driven by “I can’t let the team fail”, resting on “I’m the one they all rely on”.
Change tends to slip in the first week or two. Keep what you wrote somewhere you’ll see it, and when you look at it again, ask yourself:
- Is the practice I wrote down actually happening?
- If it isn’t, what around me got in the way?
Recognise
Name one behaviour that you want to change
Review
Find the script behind it and what it costs
Rewrite
Write a new script that works for you now
Rebuild
Build the practice and environment to hold it
If you lead a team
Teams run scripts too, about who makes the decisions and who waits to be asked. This two-pager comes from my Closing the Ownership Gap workshop. Page one summarises the 5Cs framework: clarity, capability, commitment, coaching and culture. Page two is a self-assessment you can use on your own or with your leadership team to see where ownership is getting stuck.
